A step-by-step guide to setting up static websites on AWS

Static websites on AWS can be incredibly fast if set up correctly. Let’s go through each of the steps and explain which services you will need to set up a static site on AWS.

This could be a Gatsby website or any other static HTML/CSS website that you would like to host. While optional, we will assume you have the application available in Git, along with a tool for building/deploying. In our examples, we will show how to set this up using GitLab.
